@Bekah: What I fear now, more than all else, is that we’ll squander this opportunity. Grab failure in the jaws of success and all that, you know. But it appears that momentum, at least on the mainstream side of things, is picking up. There’s recently been reports, for instance, of more and more Kindles appearing in the trains and subways of New York City.

I agree. I think we have tremendous opportunity. I love the idea of digital books. I know they aren’t traditional, not quite the same to curl up with, but if they can make reading even easier — I’m all for it. And there is so much potential with multimedia online content. (Not that that is new, but I don’t think it’s been fully tapped either).

Eli, we may very well find ourselves at the center of something big. But I don’t think we’ll get swallowed up by it. Rather, I’d surmise we’ll be in the perfect position to ride the waves . . .
