I&#039;d rather get a netbook with a swiveling touchscreen like the Mirus Schoolmate... $479 at Sears with an Intel n270 netbook processor, ruggedized, kidproofed, ports for connecting stuff, and moddable (bigger RAM, HDD, Linux, Hackintosh...).

Maybe not as elegant as the iPad, but actually more useful and $20 less than the starter iPad with only 16 gigs of storage.  If I spent $220 modding it, I wonder how it and the $700 ipad would compare.</description>
