Web Fiction
(also known as weblit)
is defined as:
Original fiction that is written for and published to the web.1
1. Web fiction is always original; never derivative, and usually hosted on the writer's own domain. Web fiction may be interactive, it may contain multiple hyperlinked narratives, or it may be published with video and other multimedia. Web fiction projects run the gamut from experimental academic types to mainstream doing-this-for-passion/profit authors. There is much to explore of the medium, and a few sites in the field are already really, really good at this. We should expect more such quality in the near future.
